Does college tier matter?

Before that, let’s answer — should it matter?

Students who get into the best colleges have put in a lot of effort to reach there. Their efforts deserve to pay off.
So they should and will have an initial advantage in their career. Trolling them will not help you.

Now, why do companies care about the college tier?

Popular companies see a huge crowd of freshers. It is hard for them to handle so many applications. It was supposed to be mere filtering criteria however, some individuals have stretched it beyond that.

Tier rule applies just to freshers. Once you are working professional, game changes. It is not about college anymore — it is a game of skills. The more you can learn, the better you’ll grow. You’re in one of the most transparent industries in the world.

College doesn’t matter after initial experience. There are always some exceptions to this, the good news is there are countless options. Don’t bother if someone has this criterion, move on.

College tier at best is a setback at the beginning of your journey. It’ll not decide your destiny. It is easy to overcome. You might not start your career with your dream company but no one can stop you from reaching there.

Work hard and you will outdo smart.
Be consistent and you will surpass luck.
